Hispanic Achievement Awards

R. Paniagua, Inc. (RPI) the largest Latino marketing firm in New York, will
honor the top 120 New York Latino students registered in New York CityÕs
Middle Schools at The Hispanic Achievement Awards Day on MotherÕs Day,
Sunday, May 14th.
The program aims to recognize the academic achievement of these students,
who are destined to be the Latino leaders of the future.
The first part of the event is the gala award reception which will be held
on Tuesday, May 9th at 6PM, at The Bronx Courthouse at 161st Street and
Grand Concourse in conjunction with Bronx Borough President Adolpho Carrion.
The 18th annual tradition continues, as R. Paniagua, Inc., honors the 2006
class of the Top Latino students from the New York Public School System.
Each child has been nominated by their teachers as their best.
The second part of The Hispanic Achievement Awards takes place on Sunday,
May 14th, Mothers Day at Yankee Stadium as the Yankees host the Oakland
Athletics. The students will be honored with an on-field presentation prior
to the game, scheduled to begin at 1:05 p.m. In celebration of Mothers Day,
all recipientsÕ mothers and fathers have been invited as guest to witness
the presentation.
As part of the celebration, Alex Rodriguez, Latino baseball star from the
New York Yankees will be recognized for his commitment to Latino Youth
throughout the U.S.
With The Hispanic Achievement Awards, R. Paniagua, Inc. continues a
tradition that began in 1988, and is geared at developing new leaders across
the Latino community in the city of New York. The awards reward academic
achievement and stress the importance of education in the development of the
community.
This program, selects middle school students, between the 6th and 8th
grades, that have been nominated by their principals with the intention of
motivating their educational development, as well as getting parents and
educators more involved as role models that present a positive image to
Latino youth.
The honorees will be special guests of the Yankees for the day receiving
tickets to the game, special accommodations in a VIP Suite, and enjoying
live entertainment.
