Este año en MARGARITA 2010, los Leones del Escogido ganaron la corona de Serie del Caribe y la número 18 para República Dominicana al vencer 7 a 4 a los Leones del Caracas en la última jornada del torneo. El equipo dominicana sólo sufrió una derrota en la serie, quedando 5 y 1. Escogido tenía 17 años sin lograr una corona en su país, y la última vez en ganar una Serie del Caribe fue en 1990, siendo el manager en esa oportunidad el legendario Felipe Rojas Alou.
