Hispanic Heritage month celebration is traditionally observed from September through October and commemorates the positive contributions achieved by Latinos, and celebrates Historic events such as ³Día de la Raza² (Columbus Day) and Fiestas Patrias (Mexican Independence).

For the past ten consecutive years, RPI has been celebrating Hispanic Heritage month through the promotion of Hispanic Heritage Day at the ballpark in Major League stadiums including; Yankee Stadium, Tropicana Field, Dodgers-Stadium, Pro Player Stadium, and the Ballpark at Arlington.

The Hispanic Heritage at the Ballpark Celebration³Latinizes² the selected stadium with music, culture and ³Latino successes in Baseball². This event enjoins the Latino leaders of each MLB market at a pre-game VIP event that includes 100 years of Baseball in Black & White Photo exhibit. Latino youngsters from the local inner city will be invited and recognized as guests attending the game.

Hispanic Heritage Day at the ballpark honors the achievements of Latino Ballplayers in the Major Leagues with a four minute scoreboard video presentation to the fans, followed by an on-field awards presentation to a ³Latino Baseball Magazine Player of the Year² (of the home team), for their respective achievements on and off the field.

R. Paniagua Honors Top Latino Students for Hispanic Achievement Awards Day

Since 1988 R. Paniagua, Inc. has honored the Top Latino New York students (grades 6 through 9) at the Hispanic Achievement Awards Day.

Top Latino students who excel in academic performance will be selected by superintendents and principals of the NYC Public School system.

The two-part program includes a gala awards reception and an on-field presentation at Yankee Stadium prior to the game. A prominent community leader and Latino baseball star from the host team will also receive recognition.

The Hispanic Achievement Awards Program has proven to be a motivating experience for the children, their parents, and educators. It has also given great media and community exposure to participating sponsors.
